Reiner Lorenzo J. Tamayo is a registered nurse, health researcher and aspiring policy analyst. He is currently a Senior Science Research Specialist at the DOST – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development. He previously worked as a Research Assistant at Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI) and as a staff nurse at the Philippine General Hospital.

He is an advocate of public health and is motivated to pursue a master’s degree in health policy. He publishes articles related to health and nursing in his personal blog. Some of his articles were also published in leading national daily newspapers in the Philippines.

In 2015, he received the coveted UPCN Community Involvement Award, an award given to a student who involved him/herself in community-oriented and community-based activities outside of the academic curriculum. He landed in the Top 10 (9th place) successful passers of the November 2015 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination.

Nurse Reiner was born and raised in Aparri, Cagayan. In 2011, he graduated as high school class valedictorian at Saint Paul School of Aparri. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2015.
