#AngatBuhayYouth Para sa bayan.
I received a call in the middle of a convention. It was from my good friend Serge. He asked me if I could accompany him to a summit where we are tasked to present a project proposal. Without hesitation, I told him I would go only if I get permission from my head nurse. I know how difficult it is to change schedule in this line of work but I asked Ma’am Geralyn B. Quiranteanyway. And at around 3PM, she told me I could attend the 2-day summit. Thanks to Ma’am Gera and Ma’am Shierra for agreeing with the changes in the schedule. 🙂
Serge and I came to the Summit to gain experience, network, and inspiration. We had a very small hope of even entering the Top 20 because we saw many good project proposals from fellow youth leaders attending the Summit. Organizations who entered the Top 20 were asked to “pitch” their project proposals to a panel of judges who’ll determine which proposals deserve grants. Years of experience in student elections and research made it easier for us to prepare for the grand pitch (Thanks, UP Manila). But what made the experience worthwhile is the inspiration behind Project GifTED’s proposal : out-of-school youth, less fortunate children.
Thank you Serge Aclan for allowing me to be part of your advocacy! I am proud of you. Continue inspiring other people! 🙂
Thank you to the Office of the Vice President, Kaya Natin, and other organizers for putting up a well-though-out summit. It was on time, organized, and full of learning experiences! Thank you as well to the judges who believe that Project GifTED’s proposal will go a long way with the seed grant from San Miguel Corporation.
Thank you Justice Friends! Sobrang low-key ng group natin. Haha. Happy to have had the chance to meet you and learn about your advocacies. Padayon! To our facilitator, Mona, thank you for your support and guidance! 🙂
